For
foreigners from abroad, a valid passport is required
to enter and depart Honduras. Visitors receive a permit
to remain in Honduras for 30 days. Honduran immigration
may grant up to two thirty-day extensions for a total
of 90 days. Thereafter, tourists must leave the country
prior to reentering.
On departure, visitors are required to pay an exit
fee, either in dollars or in local currency, at the
airline counter.
The current fee for international departures is $25
per visit, plus an additional $2 agricultural inspection
fee. This fee is subject to change. Visa is not required
for stay up to 30 days for nationals of the following
countries: Argentina, Australia, Canada, Chile, Costa
Rica, El Salvador, European Union, Guatemala, Iceland,
Japan, Liechtenstein, Malta, Monaco, New Zealand,
Nicaragua, Norway, Panama, Puerto Rico, San Marino,
Switzerland, Uruguay, United States and Vatican. Visas
are required for nationals of other countries and
can be purchased from Honduran consulates.
